How does a solar cell turn solar energy into electrical energy?

The fundamental physical mechanism by which a PV cell turns solar energy into electrical energy is known as the photovoltaic effect [22, 23]. Sunlight is formed from solar energy particles named photons, which resemble energy accumulations. The energy of these photons varies with their wavelengths in the solar spectrum.

How is solar energy generated?

Solar energy - Electricity Generation: Solar radiation may be converted directly into solar power (electricity) by solar cells, or photovoltaic cells. In such cells, a small electric voltage is generated when light strikes the junction between a metal and a semiconductor (such as silicon) or the junction between two different semiconductors.

How can solar energy be used to generate electricity?

Sun is an inexhaustible source of energy capable of fulfilling all the energy needs of humankind. The energy from the sun can be converted into electricity or used directly. Electricity can be generated from solar energy either directly using photovoltaic (PV) cells or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP) technology.

How does a solar cell work?

It collects photon energy, transforms it into chemical energy, and then uses that energy to produce a current that flows through the cell. The photosystem I complexes, which are injected and accumulated in the gold layer for several days, are the only non-organic substances present in the cell that differ from those found in other solar cells.
