What is an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system?

Power distortions such as power interruptions, voltage sags and swells, voltage spikes, and voltage harmonics can cause severe impacts on sensitive loads in the electric systems. Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems are used to provide uninterrupted, reliable, and high-quality power for these sensitive loads.

Do ELV systems need fault protection?

ELV systems operate at low enough voltage that operational safety is improved. Common building management systems such as CCTV, card access, security system etc. are all examples of ELV installations. For ELV systems, fault protection may not be needed as under certain conditions basic protection is provided by limitation of voltage.

What is an extra-low voltage (ELV) system?
