Are lithium ion batteries suitable for deep charging?

Lithium batteries are more suitable for shallow discharge and shallow charging, unless the power module of the device requires deep charging calibration of the battery. Lithium ion powered devices can be charged at any time without affecting battery life.

What is shallow charging a lithium battery?

Especially when approaching the charging limit, it may accelerate the aging of the internal chemical reactions of battery, thereby shortening its service life. Relatively speaking, shallow charging refers to charging a lithium battery to a level below its maximum capacity, such as 20% or 50%.

How to extend the service life of shallow cycle batteries?

To extend the service life of shallow cycle batteries, it is recommended to install a discharge control circuit that automatically shuts down the battery and charges it when the battery level drops to around 50%. And for the health maintenance of deep or shallow cycle batteries, intelligent charging/discharging monitors are essential tools.
