What is wind power?

Wind power is a form of energy conversion in which turbines convert the kinetic energy of wind into mechanical or electrical energy that can be used for power. Wind power is considered a form of renewable energy. Modern commercial wind turbines produce electricity by using rotational energy to drive a generator.

How do small wind power plants work?

In most cases, the small wind power plants are designed with the passive swivelling system which is realized in the form of a wind rudder, and with the horizontal rotation axis of the wind turbine and the height of the mast for placing the wind turbine up to about 10 m above the ground (Fig. 2.1 ).

How does a utility-scale wind plant work?
